Learning to cook a new way can be a challenge, or it can be fun adventure! Most of the time it’s a combination of the two. It all depends on your perspective, and of course the right kitchen tools will help. If you are new to plant-based cooking, realize that there is definitely a learning curve involved – just as there is with any new endeavor. But remember that in no time at all, your new cooking methods will become second nature.
Equipping your kitchen with a good blender, food processor, instant pot (or pressure cooker), a rice cooker, silpats (to line your baking sheets), and handy tools/gadgets will make your life much easier. Click here for our recommended kitchen tools. The only thing I haven’t included yet are really good Chef Knives; that’s because I have yet to delve into that arena, but I’m getting close! When I have some knives to recommend, I’ll include it as a post. (Be sure to sign up for my blog).
If you need motivation as to WHY you are doing this, check out our Educational Materials page as a place to begin. Once you understand the benefits of a whole food, plant based diet (and also realize the damage caused by the Standard American Diet), you’ll feel good about your efforts. And once you realize that there is NO deprivation, and that the foods are absolutely delicious, you’ll be so glad that you’re fueling your body in the healthiest way.
