Whole Harvest Meal Delivery

January 7, 2024 By Cyd Notter

When you're not in the mood....

I'll let you in on a little secret: There are just some days when I am NOT in the mood to cook. Typically I'm a batch cooker, spending 3+ hours in the kitchen to prepare lots of meals at once. However, that doesn't suit my schedule lately, so I'm back to cooking every other day or so, usually first thing in the morning.

I recently learned about a "whole food plant based, no-added-oil" meal delivery service called Whole Harvest, and because I had a $30 off coupon, I decided to give them a try.

But first I spoke to the company and discovered that not only is Whole Harvest working with hundreds of physicians who recommend plant-based diets to their patients, but they've also partnered with the likes of many pioneers in the plant-based world, including Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn, Dr. Dean Ornish, and the folks at Forks Over Knives.

My Initial Order

There are many great options at Whole Harvest! Many meals are gluten free, and some are SOS-free (no salt, oil, or refined sugar). Due to the seasonal availability of certain foods, their menu items do change from time to time - which is nice!

The minimum order is 8 meals, but I ordered these ten:

Loaded Yam Supreme - very filling! Did add a little salt-free seasoning, but was fine without it.
Teriyaki Vegetables with Tofu - the tofu was cooked just right. Added a spray of Liquid Aminos.
Buddha Bowl - surprisingly good! I added a balsamic cilantro dressing.
Pasta Fagioli
Harvest Vegetable Lasagna
Savory Mushroom Bolognese
Jackfruit Enchiladas
Wholesome Lentil Loaf
Seasoned Harvest Bowl
Hearty Beefless Stew
Disclaimer: As of this writing (Jan. 7, 2024), we have not yet tried them all. My comments are listed by the meals we've tried. I'll update this blog post with comments as we go along.
The generous portion sizes could serve two people, especially if you add a side salad, a bowl of soup, a steamer veggie, or a microwaved potato.  My hubby and I split each entree and were satisfied/full.

 Other Benefits of Whole Harvest

* No subscription is required (although a subscription does save money if you plan to order regularly)

* The meals last in the fridge for 7-14 days, depending on the entree. Most of them can be frozen

* The meals arrive in a chilled box (not frozen), and all packaging materials are recyclable

* Because the meals are chilled, they'll be delivered within 2 days of shipping (shipping rates depend on your zip code)

* All meals are fresh and chef-prepared

* Products have a 5-star rating system, so you can see how others have rated them

* Meals currently range anywhere from $9.95 - $13.95 (snacks are less), but remember, these are generous portions!
And if you've been to the grocery store lately, you know how much prices have risen.
I feel it's a fair price based on the quality and convenience.

Great for Traveling!

When you are traveling (or again, simply NOT in the mood to cook), pull one of these entrees from the freezer and just Heat and Eat! All the work has been done for you and delivered to your door. Plus they are totally compliant - whole food, plant based, no-added-oil 🙂
I brought three of these entrees with us on a road trip recently, and they were lifesavers. I didn't have to run out to the store and start cooking the minute we arrived. The Whole Harvest meals provided some breathing room. I will DEFINITELY be ordering these meals whenever we travel. They're packaged securely and travel well in the cooler!

Your $30 Off Code

To get $30 off your first order, use the Coupon Code: cyd30 at the checkout.
PS: I should mention that my hubby and I have different palates, and we've BOTH enjoyed the entrees so far! That's another reason I feel comfortable recommending them 🙂
