Neapolitan Nice Cream

Impress your family and friends with this SIMPLE dessert!

A combination of chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry nice cream (but you could use any flavors you wish!)

NOTE: Please read instruction note #3 below before you begin, because you’ll need to determine which method you’ll use to freeze and assemble the final product 🙂

Neopolitan Nice Cream

Ingredients:

10 – 12 peeled, frozen bananas (use brown spotted bananas for best results)

2 TBS cocoa or cacao powder

1 – 2 tsp vanilla powder (or extract)

Roughly 2 cups frozen strawberries

Small amounts of plant milk

  1. Start by peeling and freezing 10 – 12 brown-spotted bananas. Freeze for at least 24 hours.
  2. You’re going to make each flavor of nice cream separately, of course! You’ll need a high-powered blender, and a tamper to get the frozen fruit down into the blades.~ For the Chocolate: Blend 3-4 frozen bananas with 2 TBS cacao powder and a SPLASH of plant milk in a high powered blender. OPTIONAL: adding a small amount of vanilla powder or extract provides a nicer flavor.~ For the Vanilla: Blend 3-4 frozen bananas with 1 – 2 tsp vanilla powder or extract and a splash of plant milk. Adjust the vanilla to your taste.~ For the Strawberry: Blend 2 frozen bananas with about 2 cups of frozen strawberries and a splash of plant milk. You’ll need to tweak this to adjust how much sweetness and strawberry flavor you like. Add more banana or strawberries, as you desire.
  3.  Find an appropriate container to freeze all 3 flavors. Now you have the option of “freezing in place” or freezing each flavor separately and later spooning/flattening it into the container. You can see by my photo that I chose the latter, otherwise the “dividing lines” would be much more defined. To freeze in place: You won’t be making all 3 flavors at the same time using this approach. Cut a piece of cardboard to act as a divider in your dish. Cover the cardboard with plastic wrap or parchment paper. Pour the chocolate into the container, filling only the first third of the container and using your divider to keep it in place. Freeze until firm. Now remove the divider and pour in the vanilla mixture, filling another third of the container and using the divider to keep it in place. Freeze until firm. Finally, pour the strawberry mixture into the remaining third of the container, and freeze until firm.To freeze separately: You WILL be making all 3 flavors at the same time for this approach. Pour each flavor into a separate containers and freeze until firm. Assemble into one container by spooning the chocolate into the first third of the container, followed by the vanilla into the second third of the container, and lastly, spoon in the strawberry to fill the remaining third. You’ll be pressing down the nice creams and carefully flattening each section with a spoon, doing the best you can to keep them separated into even portions.
