Potluck events are a great way to taste a variety of plant-based foods and get new recipes!
Each person (or couple) brings a dish to share which will allow for around 20-25 people to have a good sized sample. Dishes must meet our “healthy recipe” criteria (which I will share upon your request or when you RSVP); copies of the recipe should also be provided.

“Power Foods for the Brain” Breakfast Class
Of all the worries we may have about the future, the possibility of losing our mental abilities tops the list. The good news is that we now know more than ever about how our memory works, and what is causing the problems.
Based on the book by clinical researcher Dr. Neal Barnard, this class will focus on an effective 3-step plan to protect your mind and strengthen your memory. We’ll cover what the latest research reveals about contributors to everything from mild cognitive impairment (forgetfulness) to dementia, stroke, and Alzheimer’s disease.
In this class you will learn:
• The role of genetics and the Alzheimer’s gene
• How metals and foods affect the brain
• The correlation of brain health with cholesterol and fats
• How sleep deprivation and certain medications impact us
• The role of mental and physical exercise
• How to build your brain shield and optimize its function
• Which foods to avoid, and which ‘power foods’ can protect your brain and dramatically reduce your risk of Alzheimer’s disease
